Engineered Easy: VersaTube’s unique “Slip-Fit” design and standard frame components dramatically simplify the installation process. It’s a proprietary and patented "swaging" manufacturing process and building framing system developed, engineered, and owned by VersaTube® Building Systems
Engineered Steel Building

Strong & Durable Steel: VersaTube uses only the highest quality domestic heavy-duty galvanized steel tubing.

Engineered Steel Buildings Triple Layer Protection: This triple layer of corrosion protection zinc bonding, conversion coating, and clear polymer coating provides a smooth, shiny end product appearance that is unmatched in strength and durability. Salt spray tests prove this triple coat sealing process resists rust two times longer than any pre-galvanized or electroplated tubing product. And let’s not forget the obvious termite and rot resistance advantages over wood.

Smooth Mandrel Bend: VersaTube uses a mandrel bending system for a cleaner look and a stronger bend transition. Framing systems for most primary structures and complete packaged kits include frame components that feature mandrel bends. Engineered Steel Buildings
Roof Pitch: All VersaTube structures have a standard 3:12 pitch.

Ground Snow & Wind Loads: The VersaTube framing system and structures are engineered and configured to address local area ground snow and wind load requirements. Ground snow PSF (pounds per square foot) and wind velocity & exposure level (MPH @ B or C exposure) help determine the appropriate size and configuration of a VersaTube building package.

  Ground Snow Wind Velocity @
C Level Exposure
Maximum Wind
  Garages & Buildings 70 - 20 PSF * 90 MPH   140 MPH, V3s, with 20 PSF Live Load
  Contractor Series 100 - 42 PSF * 90 MPH   90 - 140 MPH, V3s, with 20 PSF Live Load
  Carports & Shelters 77 - 20 PSF * 90 MPH   140 MPH, V3s, with 20 PSF Live Load
  Loafing Sheds 30 PSF * 80 MPH   90 - 140 MPH, V3s, with 10/20 PSF Live Load

* Varies by structure size and use of truss bracing

Consult your local building permit department for local loading requirements. In most cases, a VersaTube structure can be customized to accommodate higher snow loads (reduced on center spacing, truss bracing, etc.) and anchoring can be increased to address higher wind load levels.

All standard complete building kits are designed and configured to be code compliant. Many will not require stamped engineering drawings, but they are available at an additional cost if needed. Use an Engineering Package Order Form for ordering engineering calculations and/or stamped drawings if required for permitting.
