VersaTube offers new carport design, more coverage with the Suburban Series

Friday, August 29th, 2008

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — VersaTube® Building Systems recently introduced their new Suburban Series line of carports and shelters.  Primary features of the Suburban Series offer two distinct advantages over more common carport structures – a boxed eave A-frame design presents an alternative to the typical rounded roof look and width dimensions are an extra foot wider to provide greater coverage and additional room.

The new shelter series features VersaTube’s® patented “Slip-Fit” frame connections that speed frame assembly and reduce installation time.  Available dimensions include standard widths of 13-feet, 19-feet and 25-feet and heights of six, nine and 12-feet.  These complete carport packages are backed by a limited 20-year warranty on frame components and roof panels.  Length extensions and enclosure options add flexibility to address individual shelter needs.

The Suburban Series 13-feet wide by 20-feet long by six-feet high single-wide model has also been added as a stock carport product by Lowe’s Companies, Inc. and is currently available in some 56 select Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse locations in Southern California.  The popular 19-foot wide two-vehicle, double-wide carport and other Suburban Series sizes and options can be ordered in-store through Lowe’s Special Order Sales.

With fiscal year 2007 sales of $48.3 billion, Lowe’s Companies, Inc. is a FORTUNE® 50 company that serves approximately 14 million customers a week at more than 1,550 home improvement stores in the United States and Canada.  Founded in 1946 and based in Mooresville, N.C., Lowe’s is the second-largest home improvement retailer in the world.  For more information, visit www.Lowes.com.

VersaTube provides baseball facility solution for UT Martin athletics

Friday, August 29th, 2008

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — VersaTube® Building Systems, a leading manufacturer of pre-engineered steel framing components and systems, had just the added space solution for the UT Martin Athletics Department.  Faced with sacrificing its indoor baseball batting cage to much-needed classroom expansion, the Skyhawks baseball program found the answer in an easy-to-install 30-feet wide by 80-feet long by 12-feet high VersaTube® building conveniently located adjacent to Skyhawk Field.

Skyhawk baseball players now have a stand-alone facility with features that allow for year-round practice and use.  The building was customized with multiple door openings for easy accessibility and warm weather ventilation.  Canvas door closures can be attached during the cold weather months.

Available electricity allows for the future addition of fans, blowers, air conditioning or heating units if desired.  Lighting was easily installed along hat channel roof purlins.  Interior netting hangs from eyebolts secured to overhead truss braces and can be configured by activity or need.  The Athletic Department economically completed the structure’s interior with the acquisition of artificial turf reclaimed from college football fields and stadiums.  Additional university and athletic team information is available from The University of Tennessee Martin website at www.utm.edu.

VersaTube expands product offering with new steel framing system

Friday, August 29th, 2008

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — VersaTube® Building Systems, a leading manufacturer of pre-engineered steel framing components and systems, announces a new 2-inch x 4-inch framing system for clear-span buildings up to 50-feet wide.  The introduction of the new system is VersaTube’s® response to building applications that require a steel frame construction solution for heavy use or areas with high snow loads and the need for structures greater than 30-feet wide.

The new framing system features VersaTube’s® patented “Slip-Fit” frame connections that speed frame assembly – reducing construction time and cost.  The new 2-inch x 4-inch system utilizes plate-mounted truss side posts for anchoring directly to a concrete foundation, footer or pier – allowing flexible on-center spacing.  Exterior sidewall heights of 10, 12, 14 and 16-feet are available.  Complete building packages that include painted steel sheet metal panels for the roofing and siding along with appropriate trim and screws may be ordered.

“This 2-inch x 4-inch system is the largest and strongest dimensional product available in our industry and can be designed to meet most wind and snow load requirements,” said company co-owner and president Tim Soder.
