Mid-South Metal Products, Inc., doing business as VersaTube® Building Systems, was founded in 1994 and is privately owned by Tim Soder (President) and Bruce Ostrander (Vice President). The company has two manufacturing facilities – one at corporate headquarters in Collierville, TN and the second in Guadalupe, AZ near Tempe.

VersaTube® Building Systems designs, manufactures, distributes and markets pre-engineered steel framing components and systems for residential, agricultural, commercial and light industrial building and shelter applications.

In 1997, VersaTube® Building Systems brought innovation to the steel tube framing industry, inventing a machined process known as "swaging" that creates “Slip-Fit” frame connections, allowing the end of one steel frame
component to easily fit into the end of another without the use of insert tubes, thus simplifying assembly and reducing construction time.

VersaTube® Building Systems took the necessary steps to protect it’s proprietary rights by successfully patenting this unique manufacturing process and building framing system with the United States Patent Office (No. 5,907,969 and No. 6,279,289).

Addressing a growing consumer need for storage and shelter solutions, the VersaTube® framing system and do-it-yourself complete building packages for prefabricated garages, buildings, carports, shelters, RV covers, loafing sheds and
are available through a network of authorized independent VersaTube dealers in the United States, Canada and overseas, and major mass merchandise partners nationwide.

The VersaTube® Product Pledge applies to every frame system and component for a period of 20 years. In addition, sheet metal panels include a 20-year limited warranty from the manufacturing vendor.

In 2005, VersaTube® Building Systems applied the “Slip-Fit” frame connection feature to the design of a new product – THE DEER TOWER™ Hunting Blind System – and the launch of a new subsidiary company – Wildlife Strategies, manufacturing practical hunting solutions for the active outdoor consumer.

VersaTube® Building Systems was named to the 2007 Inc. 5000 – Inc. Magazine’s list of The Fastest Growing Private Companies in America based on revenue growth from 2003 through 2006.
